The current state of iOS WordPress apps
Wednesday April 18th, 2012
I have spent a few hours figuring out which is the best app to post to my WP account. It turns out that the free version of WordPress is the best of the lot.
Blogsy
When I first saw this app, I thought this was the only and real contender. Turns out it is not to be because of this ridiculous div tag and CSS inline mess it had decided to throw in. Take a look at the screenshot below:

I don’t want to waste time just to trim the HTML or figuring out this mess. Nor I want to continue on with this review. A quick removal from the home screen.
BlogPress
Why, oh, why is the idea of using align=’left’ or centre tag is being used for images line up? When editing a post, it disappears! Binned.
WordPress
I’m back to using the official app and it just works for what I want to do. The only issue is this error message that makes absolutely no sense to me when trying to upload images.

It would be great to include the option to insert it in between paragraphs?
Could someone please give this app a make over and make blogging more fashionable on iOS?
Somehow, I believe that app developers need to understand that they cannot use obsolete HTML codes or use inline CSS styling. It may be a technical challenge but taking short cuts is not on. You are smarter than this and it is time for somebody to step up to the challenge to produce a good working iOS app.
