web portfolio
- PsychKicks ~ Modern Rock ‘n’ Roll? Awww yeah! When the people threw me the design which has a haze of miami beach with psychedelic feel to it, there is a good strong vibe about this! This is a quick and easy WordPress theme made from scratch using Forge (an amazing tool that help speed up development process) using role selectors and some little bits of jQuery goodness. Perfect.
- Pista.cc ~ A blog about one man and his bike? Why yes! The design came out of the blue along with using new tools in my web developer’s brain. The site is viewable on all mobile and desktop browsers as media queries deals with the resizing. Other little tidbits is the spinning cog (hello CSS animation!), use of roles in the HTML, crafted quickly with compass and forge. You could say that learning WordPress from scratch is the best thing I have ever learnt.
- AuburnRoo ~ This is my other half who needed a good design and based on WordPress to upload new posts and photos of artwork and sewing. The design was inspired after looking at the grid layout of the content at the beginning of the book, Indie Publishing which is a challenge to layout working with WordPress templates.
- The Upstairs Gallery ~ It was time to support a local business and having hired their space to display my artwork, I offered my free time to redesign their website, newsletter and working with content to increase awareness of a gallery that won numerous awards since 2007.
- John Nassari ~ Rosy Tsai came up with an interesting website design project for a popular wedding photographer located in London. The site was built using Jekyll to speed up the development process as the deadline was incredibly tight. Each page had a different background which was a big technical challenge, jQuery Backstretch saved the day among testing on many different resolutions (1024x768, 1280x800, 1650x1050+) to ensure that everything flows correctly.
- Tomorrow Never Knows ~ Working with another talent designer Basile Cuvelier of The Partners. Tomorrow Never Knows is a project from Jerwood Visual Arts and for further reading, take a look at their award page. The website was built on WordPress for the Jerwood VA’s communication manager to update the website with press releases.
- Sarah Haynes Gemstone Jewellery ~ The website contains a very minimal and straightforward design to display wonderful jewellery. It is built solely on BigCartel which is a brilliant online shopping service and it is easy for the client to have full control using their admin panel to upload photos, text, prices, etc. The checkout cart is handled by PayPal working very smoothly with BigCartel. This work has given me experience to build a design wrapping around BigCartel’s tools.
- James Morgan Photography ~ Rosy Tsai redesign/realign the layout which was challenging to develop in WordPress as it brings in connections from PhotoShelter (photos), Vimeo (videos) and Huffington Post (blog). A mixture of HTML5, CSS3 and some jQuery work and using various WordPress plugins to power the website.
- Paul Davies - A quick and easy minimal web design to display work and skills to promote his Information Security Consultant work.
- Two Wounded Birds ~ Working with the talented web designer Rosy Tsai to come up with a different look and feel for a band from Margate. What, Margate? Yep, this band I believe are bringing back the hey days of wonderful surf rock, punk and whatever they can do to get a good tune that will stay around in your head for days. The website is built on Wordpress CMS using HTML5, CSS3 and some jQuery goodness. The listen section is based on the wonderful MediaElement.js allowing the tunes to flow on modern web browsers.
- Barcon ~ Quick and easy website design built in a couple of hours for a security conference talk + beers. Using the famous coda slider to keep the content together without the need to load a page and bringing refreshing new look for the security crowd.
- Drew Worthley ~ An amazing up and coming musician who wants to launch his new album “The Ember” along with the website offering a blog, gigs list, videos and online shop. Focusing primarily on using HTML5 and CSS3, it is built around Wordpress CMS featuring a HTML5 audio player streaming the album and an online shop which sells the physical album CD as well as digital downloads.
- Deeper ~ One of the busiest and popular website online serving South African deep house mixes and was based on Moveable Type CMS. I gave the website a radical overhaul from a minimal design prospective, increased awareness and moved to Wordpress as requested. A couple of simple animation work using CSS3 lend this site a great look and feel. As the world of music is ever-changing, the mixes are now featured on iTunes Podcast.
